BOGO CITY, Cebu, May 15, 2017 –Brand new arc welding machines were given to Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC II graduates of Bogo Livelihood and Technical Skills Training Center (Bogo LiTeS) during their graduation ceremony.

The Mayor together with City Councilors Cres Verdida, Jewar Alarde, Digoy Mayol and Ethel Gulane honoured the graduates during the graduation ceremony with the theme: “Skills as a means of livelihood.”

There were fifty graduates of SMAW NC II, 30 graduates for Gas Metal Arc Welding NC II, 30 graduates of Gas Tungsten Arc Welding NC II, 70 graduates of Housekeeping NC II and 25 graduates of Dressmaking NC II.  Majority of the graduates hail from Bogo but a good number come from neighbouring local government units.

Bogo LiTes is a TESDA accredited training center operated and funded by the City of Bogo.

The graduates did not spend a single peso for their training as the City of Bogo sourced the funding from DILG’s Training for Better Access to Job Opportunities (TraBAJO), a program which aims to capacitate localities in developing and managing their workforce development program to boost the employability of their constituents. The City also took care of the P 500 TESDA assessment fee.
