March 20, 2019 , City of Bogo- A total of 18, 690 meters of new roads have been concreted and updated in the City of Bogo for less than a year. This is composed of roads from around 12 various Barangays in the City. This is part of the 12-point agenda of the Administration of City Mayor Atty. Carlo Martinez in cooperation with the Sangguniang Panlungsod led by Vice Mayor Ma. Cielo Martinez.

Economic Development and Infrastructure development takes two of the three top priorities for the administration of Martinez.

Road travels in the city especially in its inner Barangays are now seen to be safer and more convenient for residents and guests with the concreting of these new roads.

Majority of the new roads are classified as farm to market roads. Some fall under new access roads to address future traffic problems.

“It has been a practice in the Philippines to apply band aid solutions to problems that we face. Looking for long term solutions was never something that most of us have the time and energy to aspire for. We do not want that here in the City of Bogo. When we decide to use the people’s money on projects, we see to it that it’s for projects that will last generations and especially projects that the public whom we serve can benefit from”, declared Mayor Martinez.

Along with the concreting of these new roads, almost three hundred (300) lamp posts have been installed in key areas in the city. Various closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV) have also been successfully installed and working.

“It is our commitment to provide the City with resilient, relevant and efficient infrastructure support facilities and utilities to achieve competitive advantage within the remark of sustainable development”, added Vice Mayor Ma. Cielo Martinez.

According to the Bogo Police Station, there has been a 46% reduction in the index crime volume in the City since Martinez’s assumption of office. Included are decrease in road related accidents and crimes that have been prevented and others solved with roads now lit and the presence of the CCTV cameras.
