Farmers and Fisher folks in the City of Bogo receive cash assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development Office Region VII amounting to a total of P 1.1 Million pesos that shall be used as funding for group projects and purchase of additional livelihood equipment.

“Dako kini’g ikatabang sa inyung panginabuhi hinaot unta inyu kining gamiton ug tarong aron makatabang sab sa inyong pamilya.”, this is the City Mayor, Atty. Carlo Martinez’ request to the Bogohanon Farmers and Fisher folks who are beneficiaries of the Sustainable Livelihood Program under DSWD Region VII.

The City’s Farmers Association receives P 275 thousand-worth of assistance that shall be used in their Vegetable Farming Projects. This project will be done in groups participated by farmers from the different barangays in the city. The produce of this project shall be marketed and the proceed shall be considered additional income of the association that will may also be used for expansion or other future projects of the association.

The Fisher folks Association received the total amount of P 830 thousand pesos that shall be divided into P 10 thousand pesos each per fisherman beneficiary. An amount that will be used in purchasing new fish nets and other fishing materials that would help their livelihood.

This project is made possible through the funding of DSWD Region Vii in coordination with the City of Bogo through its City Agriculture’s Office.
